It is with great pride that Crumlin congratulate Denis Patrick on his Certificate of Accreditation as an International Technical Official
Denis has successfully completed a World Bowls’ assessment for accreditation as an International Technical Official (ITO) and is therefore qualified to operate as a Lawn Bowls ITO in the period between 25th April 2013 and 24th April 2018. Denis’s is now registered as accredited ITOs held by World Bowls – a copy of which is available to all National Authorities for their use when selecting technical officials for international events.
You will no doubt appreciate that the standard of performance which World Bowls has set for accreditation as an ITO is very high reflecting, as it must, the very high standards demanded of officials who participate in international events. Congratulations to Denis on a marvellous achievement, well done.
We lost one of our friends Sunday 14th September, Chick Curry passed away. Chick was a great member of Crumlin almost 10 years, after following his wife Kay onto the bowling scene. Chick loved to be involved in the happening of the club and organised many a social night in the club. We were introduced to the Barbershop Mellow chords, the wonderful work of Percy French and many a evening with Chick and his keyboard.
A great testament to Chick talents was last year, when Crumlin decided to rekindle the magic of previous years with the Choir. Who would have known what a resounding success story it would be, surpassing all expectations with Chick at the helm. The 25 plus choir debuted at the BIBC Championships and what a great performance. They have since gone on from strength to strength and a credit to Chick and his amazing work.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Kay and their family at this sad time. Chick will be reposing at his residence on Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm. Removal to St. Philomena’s Church, Palmerstown, on Wednesday morning, arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am, followed by burial in Esker Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross or the Oncology Unit, Tallaght Hospital.
